Our Online Class
Zoom
Our class today was on Zoom. It certainly missed the buzz of our usual classes, but it was great to round off the half-semester in PJs. It was interesting for me to hear that Zoom can be used for Screencasting, and I will certainly be looking into this. I think Screencasts would be a great way to change up the format of lessons … and allow the teacher to take a few minutes break from talking. I’ll try to incorporate this into one of our upcoming projects this semester.

Digital Curation
I’ve been thinking about this recently, as we have a ton of great materials in Brightspace that I want to download and have accessible in future. I was glad this topic came up in class, but would have appreciated a bit more on the pros and cons of different options as I still feel a bit lost…
I currently have a hybrid system where I file the majority of my work on my hard drive, but am increasingly creating and saving documents on Google Drive, largely for the shareability. I’d like to make a decision about which one to use going forward, and create a single comprehensive digital filing system for myself. Oh yes, I also have a bunch of shelving that looks like this:
